WHAT WE DO

Soft Strip Clearance FAQ’s

Soft strip demolition works include the removal of any non-structural elements within a building and can include some exterior fixtures too. The process usually includes the removal of interior fixtures and fittings such as internal ceilings, stud walls and any other temporary structures that aren’t integral to the building structure.

As with any other project we carry out – we assess the job and always have a disposal plan in place from the start to ensure as many of the materials as possible are separated and sorted for the most appropriate and environmentally friendly and sustainable methods of disposal.

Yes, we are equipped to manage soft strip projects of any scale and complexity. From small office spaces to large commercial or industrial buildings, Jettison Ltd excels in the planning and execution of soft strip demolition projects and our eco-friendly ethos ensures that we’re a top choice for projects focused on sustainability.

All items of furniture and any electronic items within the building are included in the initial project survey / scope of works and a plan for resource recovery or recycling is formulated. Electronic items are recycled in accordance with WEEE regulations, ensuring they are disposed of responsibly and sustainably and furniture is broken down for recycling or donated to local charities if it’s in good, re-useable condition. Sustainability and diverting waste from landfill is a huge part of our ethos.

The duration of a soft strip clearance project varies depending on the size of the building, the complexity of the work and the volume of items to be removed. We strive to complete all projects as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to meet our client’s time frames and deadlines.

Jettison divert between 80 and 90% of the waste we collect away from landfill. This is achieved by sorting and separating all waste into categories for recycling and taking it to licensed transfer stations for processing.  Items of good quality are also separated and donated to local charities so they can be re-used.  We use digital technology to ensure efficiencies in areas such as route planning, and paper reduction. Our new low-emission fleet of trucks are also fully compliant with LEZ.
